Literary Bio for Jeffrey T. Heyer

 

Jeff is a Screen Actors Guild Eligible veteran of eighty-odd entertainment industry employers and an Artistic Associate with The Western Stage at Hartnell College where he serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member. Jeff also freelances as actor, director, writer, instructor and consultant for various other theaters, including the Actors Collective Media Entertainment, of which he is a co-founder.

Scriptwriting for an amateur film company in Sacramento led to productions of Jeff’s stage scripts by GroveMont (now Pacific Repertory), The Western Stage, Actors Collective and a few other venues, as well as public readings at the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts. These scripts included carefully researched historical pieces, comedic Human Chessgames and adaptations of literary material from Steinbeck, Bradbury and Dickens into monologue format for The Western Stage’s Steinbeck Alive! program. He has also written publicity and ad copy for several theaters.

Under a pseudonym he has also published short stories in various magazines. Jeff studied at American River College, Sacramento, where he earned an A.A. with Honors in Theatre Arts; at Sacramento State University; U.C. Berkeley; Hayward State University (now called Calif. State Univ., East Bay); Foothill College; the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he earned a BA in Drama; Monterey Peninsula College; Hartnell College; Tahoe Community College and with various coaches along the way.
